Have you read The Mystery of the Kingdom of God: The Secret of Jesus' Messiahship and Passion by Albert Schweitzer?

His treatment of the Forerunner concept is very interesting to me, and while tangential to the Gospel truth of the Kingdom, answers a lot of questions in regards to certain events in the Gospels.

Yes, I have read the book, although many years ago. I remember that I came away from the reading impressed with his insights. Far be it from me to associate myself with Schweitzer, but I intend to carry his work on 'Elijah' a little further in future posts.
