The silence of the damned

Secretaty of State's concern for the poor

The Vatican's new secretary of state, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, proposes a "universal commitment" in favor of the poor as part of the Vatican's new diplomatic agenda.

"We need a universal commitment in favor of the most disinherited of the planet, of the poorest, of people who often seek in vain for something to live, and so that their families can live...The dignity, freedom and unconditional respect of every human being in his fundamental rights, in particular, his freedom of conscience and religion, must be part of our primary concerns, as we cannot be lacking in solidarity with the fate and future of our brothers and sisters in humanity."

He hopes that the diplomats "will commit themselves to a new drive of solidarity among all peoples, in particular to reconsider the issue of the poorest countries' debt, so that there will never again be people, especially children, who die of hunger or endemic illnesses..."

Benedict XVI's Concern for Urban Dwellers on the eve of World Habitat Day

"...I express my encouragement to all those, at the local and international level, who work so that people who live in run-down areas are assured of worthy conditions of life, satisfaction of their essential needs and the possibility to realize their own aspirations, in particular in the family realm, and in peaceful social coexistence..."

Immorality rampant - the damned remain silent

One of the most devastating impositions on our planet today is the loss of natural habitat due to overpopulation.

Why is it that no world leaders speak out against the Vatican's dictates and doctrines prohibiting birth control? Why is it that we hear no voice of outrage against the ban on using condoms to prevent the spread of AIDS?

Fear of eternal damnation ensures the economic slavery of millions of  faithful men and women and condemns millions of children in South America and Africa to lives of poverty and desolation. This Vatican expansionist policy ensures a permanent supply of millions of little Catholics who, uneducated and impoverished, will continue to walk in the steps of their forefathers.

The Catholic Church is making huge inroads into China. Need I point out the dire consequences for humanity if the laws of the Church were to eventually overturn the laws of the Chinese State?

The present dread of Vatican influence and reach incapacitates action in the face of certain future catastrophe. So complete is this dread that all world leaders are rendered mute in the face of its power.

Have we no statesmen and women left? None with the courage to speak out?

The Vatican policy on bith control and condoms is a crime against humanity!
